DATA MANAGEMENT TRAINING FOR CYID MIXED MIGRATION SUPPORT WORKING GROUP
Capacity building and training on Data Management began on Friday the 1st of October, 2021 with members of the CYID Mixed Migration Support Working Group in attendance.
Centre For Youths Integrated Development (CYID) in Nigeria and Series of Portal Incorporation in the USA has co-established a five-week virtual capacity building initiative to support direct-human service providers working in community-based organizations on data management training.
The demands for migration data arising from the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development have prompted the international statistical community to review the use of traditional sources for migration data. There is also an increased interest in looking for alternative sources to enhance the collection and analysis of migration data. The harmonization and management of migration data in the West Africa region are intended for different range of users of migration data, such as migration researchers, policymakers, and national and regional experts working on migration-related mandates. The better use and understanding of existing data sources are essential to improve migration management and policy, hence the need for this training.
The program coursework is data collection to enable participants to capture, process, model, analyze, and visualize data to make strategic decisions to optimize outcomes.
The program is designed for the five Fridays in October 2021 (1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th) @ 4 pm Nigeria time.
